WooCommerce to Shopify

WooCommerce to Shopify migration, for a fixed $1,250

$1,250 · up to 300 products · 3 to 4 weeks · prices in US dollars

The short answer

We move WooCommerce stores to Shopify for a fixed $1,250 in US dollars: up to 300 products, your customers and order history, and every /product/ and /product-category/ address redirected to its Shopify page. Plugin features, such as subscriptions, bookings and product add-ons, don’t move as they are, so the written scope lists them first.

Key facts

As of October 2026

  • A WooCommerce to Shopify migration costs $1,250 (USD) for up to 300 products and 1,000 variants, typically in 3–4 weeks.
  • WooCommerce’s built-in exporter writes your products, including variable products and their variations, to CSV. Full customer and order exports need an extension.
  • WooCommerce product pages sit at /product/… and categories at /product-category/… by default. On Shopify they move to /products/… and /collections/….
  • Shopify allows 3 options and 2,048 variants per product, and its import drops the options of products with more than 3.
  • WooCommerce stores product reviews as WordPress comments, outside the product CSV. Shopify’s WooCommerce guide moves them with a third-party app.
  • Shopify’s free Store Migration app imports WooCommerce’s product and customer CSV files as they are.

What can you export from WooCommerce?

WooCommerce’s built-in exporter, under Products, writes your products to CSV: simple, variable, grouped, virtual and downloadable products, with their variations, categories, tags, attributes and image links. Data added by other plugins only comes out if you choose to export custom meta.

Customers and orders are harder. WooCommerce’s Analytics reports download as CSV, but they aren’t a full export, and Shopify’s own WooCommerce guide uses an export extension for them. Pages and blog posts export from WordPress’s Tools › Export, as one XML file.

How do WooCommerce addresses map to Shopify?

WooCommerce and Shopify build their web addresses differently, so nearly every address changes:

  • Products: /product/{name}/ on WooCommerce becomes /products/{name} on Shopify.
  • Product categories: /product-category/{name}/ becomes /collections/{name}.
  • Product tags: /product-tag/{name}/ is matched to the closest Shopify collection.
  • Blog posts and pages follow your WordPress permalink settings, and move to /blogs/{blog}/{post} and /pages/{page}.
  • WooCommerce lets you change its bases under Settings › Permalinks, so the map starts from your store’s real addresses, not the defaults.

What doesn’t move from WooCommerce as it is?

  • Plugin features. Subscriptions, bookings, memberships and product add-ons are WooCommerce extensions with no one-to-one Shopify setting. Each one is listed in the scope, and anything non-standard is quoted separately.
  • Variable products with more than three attributes. Shopify allows three options, so those products need restructuring, and the scope says how.
  • Custom fields. WordPress keeps them as metadata; on Shopify they become metafields.
  • Reviews. They’re WordPress comments, not in the product CSV, so Shopify’s WooCommerce guide moves them with a third-party review app.
  • Passwords. WordPress only keeps a scrambled (hashed) version, so passwords can’t move, and Shopify can’t import them.

Should I move off WooCommerce at all?

Not necessarily. WooCommerce runs plenty of good stores and we build on it too. The people who move are usually the ones spending more time on plugin conflicts and checkout problems than on selling. If that isn’t you, you may not need this.

Can’t Shopify’s own app do this?

Partly. Shopify’s free Store Migration app imports WooCommerce’s product and customer CSV files as they are. But WooCommerce has no customer export with full addresses, so Shopify’s guide uses an export plugin for them, and orders and reviews go through third-party apps. The order history, the pages, the redirect map and the checking are what the package adds.

Can I move from WooCommerce to Shopify myself?

Yes. Shopify publishes a step-by-step WooCommerce guide, and its free Store Migration app takes WooCommerce’s product and customer files as they are. In outline, from Shopify’s own help pages:

  1. Export your products from WordPress: Products › All Products › Export, then Generate CSV. To bring data added by other plugins, choose to export all custom meta.
  2. Export your customers with an export plugin: WooCommerce has no customer export with full addresses, and its Analytics customers report leaves out street addresses.
  3. Upload the files unchanged to Shopify’s Store Migration app, or edit them to match Shopify’s CSV templates and use Products › Import and Customers › Import. A product with 4 or more attributes comes in without its variants. Keep WooCommerce online until the import finishes, because Shopify downloads the product images from it.
  4. Bring order history across with a migration app or Shopify’s API, if you want it: Shopify doesn’t import orders from a CSV file. Import products first, then customers, then orders, and turn off Shopify’s new-order emails first, or your staff get one for each order imported.
  5. Rebuild what WooCommerce’s exports leave out: pages and blog posts by hand or with an app, coupons as Shopify discounts, and reviews with a third-party review app.
  6. Set up your theme, shipping, taxes and payments, then place a few test orders.
  7. Add the redirects before the domain moves, as Shopify advises: in Shopify, Content › Menus › URL redirects, one at a time or by importing a CSV file. Each /product/{name}/ goes to /products/{name}, and each /product-category/{name}/ to /collections/{name}.
  8. Then connect your domain: in Shopify, Settings › Domains › Connect existing domain, and change the domain’s A and www CNAME records to Shopify’s. Or transfer it to Shopify, with the transfer code from the company you registered it with. Save a copy of its DNS records first, email (MX) records included, because Shopify doesn’t copy them. A .co.uk domain can’t be transferred to Shopify, so it’s connected instead.

From Shopify’s WooCommerce guide, Shopify’s migration guide, the Store Migration app’s listing, Shopify’s URL redirects page, Shopify’s page on connecting a domain and Shopify’s page on transferring a domain, checked on 28 October 2026.

When is it worth paying for a move from WooCommerce?

Done yourself, the plugins are most of the work: subscriptions, bookings and product add-ons have no one-to-one Shopify setting, so each is replaced with an app, and products with more than 3 attributes are rebuilt.

If your store is small, with simple products and not much search traffic to protect, Shopify’s own steps are enough, and you don’t need us. Paying makes sense when there are hundreds of products to restructure, history to keep, or no time to check it all: the package is $1,250 in US dollars for up to 300 products, with the redirect map, a written rollback and thirty days of fixes.

What else do people ask?

How much does a WooCommerce to Shopify migration cost?

$1,250 in US dollars for up to 300 products and 1,000 variants, with the redirect map included. The Shopify subscription and any app fees are separate, and you pay them to Shopify.

How do I import my WooCommerce products into Shopify?

Export them from WordPress (Products › All Products › Export), then upload the file unchanged to Shopify’s free Store Migration app, or edit it to Shopify’s product CSV template and import it under Products › Import. Keep WooCommerce online until it finishes: Shopify downloads the images from it.

What happens to my WooCommerce plugins?

They stay behind: plugins are WordPress software and don’t run on Shopify. For each one you rely on, the scope names the Shopify app or set-up that replaces it, before you agree to anything.

Will my WooCommerce reviews come across?

Not in the CSV files: reviews aren’t in WooCommerce’s product export. Shopify’s WooCommerce guide moves them with a third-party review app from the Shopify App Store instead.

Will my customers need new passwords?

Passwords never move between platforms: Shopify can’t import them. With Shopify’s current customer accounts there’s no password to set, because customers sign in with a one-time code sent by email.

Do you build on WooCommerce too?

Yes. We build WooCommerce shops as well, at $1,250 for up to 50 products, so we’ll tell you honestly if staying on WooCommerce makes more sense.
