Shopify migration · UK

Shopify migration for UK shops, at a fixed US$1,250

US$1,250 · up to 300 products · 3 to 4 weeks · prices in US dollars

The short answer

We move online shops to Shopify for UK businesses, for a fixed US$1,250. That covers up to 300 products and 1,000 variants, your customers and order history, and a redirect from every old web address to its new one. It typically takes 3–4 weeks. After the move you pay Shopify directly, in pounds, from £25 a month on Basic.

Key facts

As of October 2026

  • A move to Shopify costs US$1,250 for up to 300 products and 1,000 variants.
  • It typically takes 3–4 weeks, and the dates are written into the scope before you agree to anything.
  • After the move, Shopify Basic costs £25 a month, or £19 a month paid yearly, on Shopify’s UK pricing page (checked 27 October 2026).
  • A UK business must register for VAT once its taxable turnover for the last 12 months goes over £90,000.
  • For orders sent from the UK, Shopify Shipping sells labels from Evri, DPD, Royal Mail, InPost UK and DHL Express Europe.
  • Customers and order history come across, as well as products.
  • Every old web address is redirected to its new one, and the redirect map is in the price.
  • The switch-over happens at an hour you choose, with a written rollback agreed first.
  • Half is paid to start, and half at launch. Never all of it up front.

What will Shopify cost each month after the move?

You pay Shopify directly, in pounds, on top of the one-off US$1,250 for the move. These are the plans on Shopify’s UK pricing page, checked 27 October 2026:

  • Basic: £25 a month, or £19 a month paid yearly
  • Grow: £65 a month, or £49 a month paid yearly
  • Advanced: £344 a month, or £259 a month paid yearly
  • Plus: from £1,800 a month

Who sets up VAT in the new shop?

Setting up VAT in the new shop isn’t part of the US$1,250 move. If you’d like us to set it up with you, we quote it separately, in writing, before you agree to anything.

A UK business must register for VAT once its taxable turnover for the last 12 months goes over £90,000. The standard rate is 20%. On Shopify you can show prices with VAT included or add it at checkout, and filing and paying the VAT stay with you.

Goods sent from Great Britain to customers in the EU can be zero-rated for UK VAT if HMRC’s export conditions are met, and EU VAT is then due at the rate of the customer’s country. The Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) lets you charge it at the point of sale. Since 1 July 2026 the EU has also charged customs duty on low-value parcels that used to be exempt.

Which taxes you register for and charge is for you and your accountant to decide; we don’t give tax advice.

Which payments and carriers can the new shop use?

Online payments by standard card through Shopify Payments cost 2% + 25p on Basic, 1.7% + 25p on Grow and 1.5% + 25p on Advanced. With a payment provider other than Shopify Payments, Shopify adds its own fee of 2%, 1% or 0.6%, depending on the plan.

For orders sent from the UK, Shopify Shipping sells labels from Evri, DPD, Royal Mail, InPost UK and DHL Express Europe. Royal Mail labels through Shopify are for UK addresses only, and since 1 May 2025 Shopify hasn’t sold labels for parcels from Great Britain to Northern Ireland.

Payments and shipping are set up as part of the move: the zones, the rates and the carriers you use.

What moves to Shopify, and what doesn’t?

Your products move across with their variants, prices, images and stock, along with your customers and your order history. Up to 8 content pages are rebuilt in the new theme.

Some things can’t move as they are, and we list them in the written scope before you agree to anything. Customer passwords never move: Shopify can’t import them, and with its current customer accounts your customers sign in with a one-time code sent by email instead. Discount codes can’t be imported into Shopify from a file, and gift cards only through an app or Shopify’s API. Features a plugin or app gave you on the old platform need a Shopify app or a different set-up, and anything non-standard, such as subscriptions, bundles or custom fields, is quoted separately.

Shopify’s own import tools bring in products and, from some platforms, customers. Past orders can only come in through a migration app or Shopify’s API, so moving your order history is part of the job, not a button.

How do the redirects work?

Shopify gives every product, collection and page an address that starts the same way (/products/, /collections/, /pages/), and Shopify says those beginnings can’t be changed. So in almost every move, nearly every web address changes.

We list every old address, products, categories, pages and blog posts, and match each one to its new page. The map goes into Shopify as permanent (301) redirects before the switch-over, so old links, bookmarks and search results land on the right page instead of an error. Shopify only follows a redirect from an address that no longer has a page, which is why the map has to match the new store exactly.

Will I lose my Google rankings?

We can’t promise where you’ll appear on Google, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What protects your position is a complete redirect map, which is why it’s in the price rather than an add-on.

Google’s own guidance on moving a site to new addresses says to expect rankings to fluctuate while it recrawls, and that for a medium-sized site it can take a few weeks or more before the new addresses show in its results. In our experience rankings usually wobble for a couple of weeks and then settle. Google also advises keeping redirects for at least a year, so don’t delete them after launch.

What is the rollback, and when do you switch over?

Before anything moves, we agree a written rollback: what happens, and who does what, if the new store isn’t right on the day. The switch-over happens at an hour you choose.

Pointing your domain at Shopify usually takes effect within two hours, but Shopify says it can take up to two days, so the old store stays live on a private address for an agreed period after launch and nothing on it is lost. You cancel the old platform yourself, once the new store has settled.

Which platforms do you move stores from?

WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Magento (Adobe Commerce), BigCommerce and Etsy. Each moves differently: what you can export, how the old addresses are built, and what can’t come across. The page for each platform explains the differences.

What if my store has more than 300 products?

Then this package doesn’t fit, and we’ll quote you properly. Send the address and we’ll tell you what it costs before you pay us anything, not in week two. Being outside the ceiling isn’t a problem, it’s just a different number.

Where do these facts come from?

Shopify’s plan prices and card rates are from its UK pricing page, checked 27 October 2026, and re-checked every quarter. The VAT and shipping facts are from the official pages below, checked October 2026 and re-checked every 6 months. The other platform facts are from each platform’s own documentation, checked 21 October 2026. Prices and rules change, so check the linked page before you rely on one. We set these up with you; we don’t give tax or legal advice.

What else do people ask?

How much does a Shopify migration cost?

US$1,250 for up to 300 products and 1,000 variants, with your customers, your order history and the full redirect map included. The Shopify subscription and any app fees are separate, and you pay them to Shopify.

How long does a Shopify migration take?

Typically 3–4 weeks. The dates are written into the scope before you agree to anything.

Is the price actually fixed?

Yes, for the scope printed on the page. If you ask for something outside it, we quote that separately and you decide before we build it. Nothing is added to an invoice without your agreement first.

Do I own everything?

Yes. Domain, Shopify account, theme files, images. All in your name from the start, so nobody can hold them over you.

What do I pay upfront?

Half. The rest at launch. If you’ve been burned before, that’s the point of the split.

Are your prices in pounds?

Our prices are in US dollars (US$) for every country, the UK included. They aren’t converted into pounds, so the price in your written scope is the US$ price shown here.

Do you have a UK office or phone number?

No. Centangle Global is a US company, formed in 2025, with its delivery team in Islamabad, building websites since 2013. There’s no UK office or UK number: call or WhatsApp +1 (307) 269-6427, or email us.
