Shopify store setup · Canada
Shopify store setup for businesses in Canada, at a fixed US$1,250
US$1,250 · up to 50 products · live in 2 weeks · prices in US dollars
The short answer
We set up Shopify stores for businesses in Canada for a fixed US$1,250. That covers a theme set up around your products, or a design from scratch if the brief needs it, up to 50 products loaded, and payments, shipping and GST/HST set up. It’s typically live in 2 weeks, and you pay Shopify directly, from C$49 a month.
Key facts
As of October 2026
- A Shopify store costs US$1,250 with us, for up to 50 products.
- It’s typically live in 2 weeks. The clock starts when you approve the design, and the dates are written into the scope before you agree to anything.
- Shopify Basic costs C$49 a month, or C$37 a month paid yearly, on Shopify’s Canadian pricing page (checked October 27, 2026).
- A business must register for GST/HST once its taxable sales go over C$30,000 in four consecutive calendar quarters.
- For Canadian stores, Shopify Shipping sells labels from Canada Post, DHL Express Canada and UPS, within Canada and abroad, and from Purolator within Canada.
- You see the store in Figma, with your products in it, and approve it before anyone writes code. Two rounds of changes are included.
- Payments, shipping and tax are set up, and payments are tested.
- Every app is named, with its monthly cost, before it’s installed.
- Your domain, Shopify account and theme files are in your name from the start.
- Half is paid to start, and half at launch. Never all of it up front.
What does Shopify cost each month in Canada?
The subscription and any apps are paid by you directly, in Canadian dollars, so nothing sits in our name. These are the plans on Shopify’s Canadian pricing page, checked October 27, 2026:
- Basic: C$49 a month, or C$37 a month paid yearly
- Grow: C$132 a month, or C$99 a month paid yearly
- Advanced: C$517 a month, or C$389 a month paid yearly
- Plus: from C$3,400 a month
How do you set up GST/HST, PST and QST on a Shopify store in Canada?
A business must register for GST/HST once its taxable sales go over C$30,000 in four consecutive calendar quarters. GST is 5%. HST is 13% in Ontario, 14% in Nova Scotia (since April 1, 2025), and 15% in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.
British Columbia (7% PST), Saskatchewan (6% PST) and Manitoba (7% RST) charge their own sales tax. A seller elsewhere in Canada that accepts orders from British Columbia and delivers taxable goods there must register for its PST: with no minimum if it solicits orders there, by advertising or any other means, and otherwise once its gross revenue from British Columbia goes over C$10,000 in the past 12 months, or is expected to in the next 12. Saskatchewan requires a licence from sellers outside the province who sell to its customers, with no threshold. Manitoba requires registration from sellers outside the province who deliver taxable goods there, solicit orders there and accept orders from there.
Quebec’s QST is 9.975%, charged alongside the 5% GST. A business outside Quebec that’s registered for GST/HST must register for QST under Revenu Québec’s specified system once its taxable sales to Quebec consumers go over C$30,000 in 12 months.
What we do: Tax is set up in every store we build, for the taxes you’re registered to collect. We set up each provincial tax you’re registered for, alongside GST/HST. If you sell to Quebec, we set up QST in the store alongside GST.
We set it up with you; we don’t give tax advice.
Which payments and carriers can a Canadian store use?
Online payments by standard card through Shopify Payments cost 2.8% + C$0.30 on Basic, 2.6% + C$0.30 on Grow and 2.4% + C$0.30 on Advanced. With a payment provider other than Shopify Payments, Shopify adds its own fee of 2%, 1% or 0.6%, depending on the plan.
For Canadian stores, Shopify Shipping sells labels from Canada Post, DHL Express Canada and UPS, within Canada and abroad, and from Purolator within Canada.
Since August 29, 2025, low-value parcels no longer enter the US duty-free: its “de minimis” exemption for goods worth US$800 or less is suspended for every country. Canada Post now needs a declaration ID before it will print a label for a US parcel. US states’ sales tax rules for sellers outside the state are on our US page.
What we do: Shipping is set up in every store we build: the zones, the rates and the carriers you use. If you sell to the US, we set up its shipping zones and rates in the store.
Do you build stores in French?
The Office québécois de la langue française says businesses operating in Quebec must write their commercial publications in French, and that consumers are entitled to a complete French version of a business’s website.
What we do: We work in English only, so we can’t write, translate or check French copy.
Do I need a theme or a design from scratch?
Most stores start on a theme, set up around your products, colours and logo rather than the other way round. A design from scratch is for when a theme won’t carry the brand. Both are in the same fixed price; a paid theme licence, if the design needs one, isn’t.
Either way, you see your store in Figma, with your products and your words in it, and mark what you’d change. Two rounds of changes are included, and nothing is built until you’ve approved it.
Should I hire a Shopify expert to set up my store?
Not always, and if we don’t think you need us, we’ll say so on the call. What the fixed price buys is the design approved before anything is built, the fiddly parts set up for you, and a store that’s entirely in your name on handover day.
What if I have more than 50 products?
Then this package doesn’t fit, and we’ll quote you properly, in writing, before you pay us anything.
Bigger than these? Membership sites, catalogues above the ceilings, custom features, anything with customer logins: quoted after the call, in writing, with its own list of what’s not included.
Who builds the store?
Centangle Global is a US company, with its delivery team in Islamabad, building websites since 2013. Recent Shopify work includes eshopp, a store for a mobile and repair retailer in Canada, which you can open at eshopp.ca.
How does a Shopify store setup work?
- 01
A 20-minute call
What you sell, what you have now, what it needs to do. If a package fits, we say which. If nothing does, we say that too.
- 02
The scope, in writing
What’s included, what isn’t, the price, the dates, and what we need from you and by when. Nothing starts until you’ve agreed it.
- 03
The design
Your pages in Figma, with your products and your words in them. You go through it and mark what you’d change. Two rounds of changes are included.
- 04
You approve it
Only then does anyone write code. This is the step that keeps the last week quiet.
- 05
The build
Your products loaded from what you send, then payments, shipping and tax set up, and every app named and priced before it’s installed. You get a written note at the end of every week.
- 06
Launch and handover
Your domain connected, on a dated day, with a recorded walkthrough of the three things you’ll most often want to change.
- 07
Thirty days of fixes
Anything that breaks in the first thirty days after launch, we fix, at no charge.

What else do people ask?
How much does it cost to set up a Shopify store?
US$1,250 with us, for up to 50 products, with payments, shipping and tax set up. The Shopify subscription and any apps are separate, and you pay them directly.
How long does it take to set up a Shopify store?
Typically 2 weeks. The clock starts when you approve the design, not when you first email, and the dates are written into the scope before you agree to anything.
Can I edit it myself afterwards?
Yes. You get the admin login and a recorded walkthrough of the three things you’ll most often want to change. If you’d rather never touch it, that’s fine too, and you’ll know what a change costs before you ask for it.
Is the price actually fixed?
Yes, for the scope printed on the page. If you ask for something outside it, we quote that separately and you decide before we build it. Nothing is added to an invoice without your agreement first.
Do I own everything?
Yes. Domain, Shopify account, theme files, images. All in your name from the start, so nobody can hold them over you.
What do I pay upfront?
Half. The rest at launch. If you’ve been burned before, that’s the point of the split.
Will you set up GST/HST, PST and QST?
Yes, tax is set up in every store we build. Which taxes you register for and charge depends on your business and where your customers are, so that’s for you or your accountant to decide; the CRA’s and the provinces’ pages are linked above. We set the store up to match.
Are your prices in Canadian dollars?
Our prices are in US dollars (US$), not Canadian dollars, for every country. They aren’t converted, so the price in your written scope is the US$ price shown here.
Do you have a Canadian office or phone number?
No. Centangle Global is a US company, formed in 2025, with its delivery team in Islamabad, building websites since 2013. There’s no Canadian office or Canadian number: call or WhatsApp +1 (307) 269-6427, or email us.
